Helping in Our Community

The Literacy Group of Waterloo Region is a non-profit organization that offers adults over the age of 18 free help with skills upgrading to improve basic reading, writing, math, computer and workforces skills.  Through volunteers and staff, we provide a variety of programs and services in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and the four Townships.

Through the help of our volunteers we provide in excess of 15,000 hours of adult literacy training per year.

Exciting Project Announced

Our project, “Using Computer Technology in the Workplace” will focus on developing a curriculum based on upgrading computer skills in the workplace to ensure workers have the skills to function effectively and safely on the job. MW Woollens Canada (Montreal Woollens, Cambridge) is the employer partner for this very exciting project. A big thank you to Minister John Milloy and The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities who provided us with $78,000 to do this!
